God's Little Lia

So excited to share about little Lia Price! The story of this family is amazing. So glad that the Lord has His hand in all of it!

Dave's cousin, Jason, and his wife, Kristen, have been on the long, heart-wrenching and bumpy adoption journey. Since they have not been able to have a child on their own, they decided to welcome one of God's children who needs a loving home. They knew that they may wait for a long time, as every couple on this journey does, but the potential reward definitely outweighs the risk and waiting.

They were chosen initially by a mom and dad here in Knoxville. Dave and I were so excited to see them as they came into town for each doctor appointment. They became friends with the couple and smiled from ear to ear when talking about the future. The parents, however, decided that they would keep the baby after finding out the gender. The parents had every right to do this, and this was one of the risks they knew. But nothing prepares you for that moment. We hugged them (since they were in Knoxville when they found out) and tried to figure out what the purpose was in all of it. But again... God's hand was in it!

Kristen shared that she was really upset for weeks after ("upset" doesn't really cover it). But as always, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and His glory is seen through it all. God answered their waiting and prayers (all of our prayers) when Kristen got a call, while grocery shopping, to come pick up a baby! Definitely a life changing moment! I had nine months to prepare for a baby... Jason and Kristen had a 30 minute car ride!

Totally worth it.

The Prices... All THREE of them!

Cousins!!!

They've had Lia since August and recently went to court to make Lia part of their family. The joy for the family is abounding! Praise Jesus for this sweet blessing!
