Surprise! You get a birthday balloon!

While the DC Coffmans were in town, we tried to do a surprise lunch/party for Marvie. Her birthday is on or right around Thanksgiving every year (November 28) and I figured we needed to celebrate the wonderful woman that she is. My plan to get there early (Aunt Gail's house) and set up for her was spoiled as we stopped to get a balloon (long line) and Joe was driving the rest of the family (makes speeding look easy).

Boo. Plan failed. Luckily Ella sensed my frustration and dirtied her diaper so that Marvie would fall for a diversion. We quickly set up the cake, gifts and balloon in the kitchen in hopes of surprising the heck out of her. haha I do think she was surprised? :) Either way, she was celebrated, and the tiny DC Coffman had a fun new balloon to play with. A success, I believe.
